The best way to spread Christmas cheer......

is singing loud for all to hear. (quote by Buddy the Elf)
(We LOVE that movie, the kids can all quote lines from it on demand.)

It's been a fun week of singing for our family. On Sunday, the church held their children's program in which our Angel (Emma) and Sheep (Logan) participated in.  There was no doubt which kids sang the loudest during their songs.....ours apparently have no fear of making their voices move up and down in front of crowds of people.  It was very cute and heartwarming and captured on video.

On Tuesday night, it was Logan's preschool program.
The day before, the kids got a package in the mail from Papa Ray and inside were Christmas outfits.
Logan decided that he was for sure going to wear his to the program.

(Can he be any cuter?)
The pictures are a way's off but (Emma was in charge as I was video taping) here is Logan's class and you can see him in the middle.  Miss Lisa told me later that she has to put Logan in the middle cause he's one of the 3 boys that will sing loud.

Here is the all the classes that attend preschool.  A mix of 3-4-5 year olds. Logan is still in the front...

After some tasty cookies and time to visit.....we came home to another 4 inches of snow. Our little helper was the first to say that he was going to do some shoveling before he came in.  So, he grabbed his mittens and shoveled snow with Dad in his vest and tie.

Gunner can't help but want to be in pictures too...

The Kirby Krew wishes you a Merry-Merry Christmas!  We are blessed in so many ways and are thankful for all of our family and friends and blog friends. Life is good!   May you have safe travels and enjoy time with friends and family.

Date night.

Logan, is my baby. The last born child of our family.  With this fact I hold onto and cling to everything he does as I realize I will never witness this stage again with another child.

I've mentioned before that Logan is our helper. He loves to help and most often, we don't even have to ask him.  He just wants to be around what we are doing and involved in it someway-somehow.

Today turned out to be a surprised blessing and Logan and I got to spend the night together, just the two  of us for a few hours.

After picking him up from daycare, I asked what he wanted to do tonight and informed him that it would be just the two of us for a few hours.  His first few thoughts were:  we could ride our bikes, play outside, shoot stuff, maybe eat at McDonalds and could he get some turkey jerky.

So, we agreed to have some dinner first and went to the local Burger King.

Did I mention that Logan melts my heart sometimes?

We order, he picks our spot with two chairs by the window, takes off his jacket and then pulls out  my chair cause "it's kinda stuck behind the other one."  Sigh...

We sit down and he decides that he wants both ketchup's that I had already gotten but he tells me..."don't worry Mommy, I get you one."  I start to tell him that he's not going to be able to reach the little cups or the ketchup spout but then stop myself.......... I need to let him figure out how to do things on his own and don't want to constantly be telling him he can't do anything because, well, he's short.

This little 4 year old boy, with no fear, walks up to the condiment table and grabs a little cup that someone had left out that he could reach.  Then asks a man who was getting his own ketchup if he could get some ketchup for him cause his Mommy needs some.  The man looks over and gives me a smile and I smile back, both of us enjoying the thoughtfulness and politeness of this little boy.  I hear Logan say, "thank you" and he walks back to the table with my ketchup, sits down and says....

"What kind of stuff should we shoot when we get home?"

Oh, my Logie Bear...you just melt my heart.

Eight down and sixty-six to go......

Today is our 8th wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary to us!

It's funny to think that 8 years ago it was 60 degrees outside with not an ounce of snow on the ground....and Tyler was only 6(same age that Emma is now) and there were no Emma or Logan or Gunner.

We've had our ups and we've had our downs...... we've also had a lot of days that are right in the middle.

The years have flown by but we know that life has even more in store for us in the upcoming years.

In sixty-six years, I will be 100 years old and by then tired of doing Kirby's laundry and we will celebrate our 74th wedding anniversary.  I'm sure at that age,  I will die a happy woman, loved her whole life by an adoring husband, surrounded by my children and grandchildren and maybe even some great grandchildren with millions of memories of the life we shared together.

Happy Anniversary babe!  Here's looking forward to the next 66.

Shake what your Mama gave ya!

It was a first for me last night.

I figured with my extensive ballet, tap, jazz training from the ages of  3-5 that I could handle a Zumba class.

I quickly learned that my long spider monkey arms get in the way of me trying to shake my *ss.

The instructor was crazy and loud!  I've never stared at a women's behind for so long and intensely as I did last night. It's kind of funny because you are going back and forth between watching her feet to butt, and then back to her feet trying to keep up.

It was fun.

I'll do it again.

But next time, I may have a few beers before class because I know that's when I dance my best.

Cause ya gotta have friends.........

Wasn't it the best thing ever to have a playdate with your friends when you were growing up?
Emma comes home daily with 1st grade handwriting phone numbers of her friends who want to come to our house for a playdate.
Last Sunday we had 2 of their friends over in the afternoon.  The girls first met in preschool and then also have done gymnastics for the past 3 years in the same class. The boys are in the same preschool and also in gymnastics together (don't worry, next year he starts hockey.)
The bonus?  They are brother and sister too!

The boys played gun and hunting.
The girls played dress up and colored, and colored, and colored.

The boys even played a little Wii boxing and bowling. Too funny to watch 4 year olds play the Wii.

We are thankful for our friends!
