Spring-Sprang-Sprung!

(Random picture:  I'm wishing we were in Mexico right now.)

So, what's new with the Kirby Krew?  Hmmm....let me think.....

*Turkey season has come and gone = no turkey gave his life this year for Kirby's enjoyment.

*Emma and Logan are busy with soccer. Kirby is coaching Logan's team this year....yes, that's right-15 five year olds.  This should be fun to watch. :)

*Tyler is busy with basketball and baseball and school.

*Kirby is enjoying his spring off from umpiring HS baseball.  I'm enjoying him home by 4pm!

*I'm up and running again. Man-starting was tough but like Stella, I've finally found my groove.

*School is wrapping up for the year.  Emma passed her multiplication facts and is moving on to division. She is 1 of 2 kids in her grade that has advanced to division. Great job Emma!  I can see it now......Valedictorian, class 2022.

*Gunner is getting grumpier but we still love him.  Raider is an over-grown 95lb puppy who still eats everything.  His newly acquired skill is opening the pantry door and then proceeding to flip open the dog food lid and help himself.   One day-he ate half a bag of dog food.

*Logan is finishing up preschool and is so stinkin' cute!  There are 6 women that either teach or help out in his classroom and they all tell Kirby how much they just love Logan....and apparently, he's got some serious dance moves.

And that's about all the shrimp I know!

Oh-and I'll sign my name to this blog post....lol!
Yours respectfully,
Michele Kirby

Hunting Turkeys......from the wife perspective.

11 months prior to the start of turkey season:
Kirby: I can't wait to hunt next year. Next year I'm going to  hunt here and here and there and do this.........

8 months prior to the start:
Kirby: Wow-you won't believe how many turkeys I saw today driving in to school!

6 months prior:
Kirby: Wow-you won't believe how many turkeys I saw  today driving to school!

4 months prior:
Kirby: Wow-I saw so many turkeys driving around today. I can't wait for turkey season!

2 months prior:
Kirby: Saw a lot of turkeys today. I better get in my bid for a license.

1 month prior:
Kirby: YES- I got drawn!  I saw so many turkeys today!  There were 15 out by Lisa's and 10 down by the river and then.....

2 weeks prior:
Kirby: Went out scouting today.  There were turkeys all over the place!  I must have seen at least 25.

1 week prior:
Kirby: Sweet! I just went scouting and saw about 20 of them....can't wait for next week!

First day of hunting:
Me: Well-how many did you see today?  Did you get any into your decoys?
Kirby:  None.

And so it goes............

Love you dear.......

Once upon a time....

There was THIS dog.....

Who THIS fine lady saved from a shelter for homeless dogs even though....

THIS guy wasn't overly excited about having another dog.....

Because we already love and adore THIS dog.....

but it all worked out and we've now put to rest 2 vacuum's in a year due to shedding.

So, one day THIS fine lady......

decided to enroll THIS dog into obedience class to learn and have some fun....

and they do have fun.....except THIS dog is the class clown and doesn't follow directions as well as he could.

So last night, THIS lady.......

Let THIS guy......

Take THIS dog......

To obedience class.

And THAT DOG WAS THE BEST BEHAVED DOG AT CLASS!!!!!
Even the instructor made a comment that Raider did the best he's ever done.

Apparently, that lady I mentioned before is a little too 'nice'
AND
Apparently that guy I mentioned is a little more disciplined than that lady.

I don't think I will be taking Raider to class next week.
