Sleeping.

I love to sleep.

I love the feeling of drifting off, being snuggled in with a pile of blankets on you, a stack of pillows under your head, the fan on low, darkness and waking up under your own will.

Then you get married and are forced to sleep with someone. I'm willing to bet that 9.9/10 married couples are exact opposites in how they prefer to sleep.  Kirby and I are included in this poll.....below are a few examples.

He throws off a constant stream of heat and sleeps with a sheet or nothing-I prefer 5 big fluffy blankets and to be covered with only my nose sticking out.

He likes to snuggle and hates our king size bed-I want/need my space and will cling to the side of the bed if needed.

He hears the alarm and is on his feet in no time.-I prefer to hit snooze as many times as I possibly can to push the envelope of me getting to work on time each day.

Then, you throw in a dog........I love Gunner and he is the best foot warmer a girl could ever ask for but....a 90 pound dog takes up a lot of space, even on a king size bed.

Then, throw in a child or two. Logan is on this habit lately where he will come downstairs and climb into bed with us.  He is very smart with his tactics because both of us our in our deep sleep and although we feel him climbing into bed, we are too out of it to be able to do anything about it.

That is until his feet are in my nostrils.....or kicking me in the chest.........or his hand just whapped me upside the head.......or his head is now laying on my stomach.

Then, that's it..........this Mama needs her sleep.   The dog gets the boot with a right foot kick.......I gently nudge Kirby enough to wake him up so he carries Logan upstairs and then in those 2 minutes of freedom....I grab my blankets and pillow and put up the "wall" so I can go back to sleep.

Yes, sleep in good...........Happy Monday!

Oh goodness, I could have written that post. So similar. We also have a king size bed and often times I am telling Chad to move over to "his side" of the bed!
