Buddy the Elf...

This afternoon after picking up my children from daycare, Logan was 'throwing' a fit in the backseat because his big sister had Cheezits in a plastic bag.  Although she was willing to share with him, he wanted to hold the bag which entails a fit apparently.

I tried to reason, I explained, I attempted to connect with a 3 year old on why it didn't matter that his sister got to hold the bag and he didn't and that the important thing was that he was GETTING a few of the cheezits to eat.

I'm pretty sure he didn't hear a word I was saying because he continued to cry and yell and cry and yell as we drove the 10 miles home.

Until Emma, in her voice of reason, stated the following to him.

"Logan... you know in Buddy the Elf, that song they sing....'you better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town.'  You better stop ya know."

Silence.....................

Thank you Emma, I couldn't have said it better myself.

So what are we going to do when Christmas is over?

That Emma is a smart cookie, she takes after her Uncle Jeff no doubt. That trick will also work on adults if phrased the right way.....just saying.
