Well, it's official....Emma is 5.
We had an early birthday celebration with Grandpa Ray, Grandma Sharon, Aunt Vanessa and Uncle Jeff last Saturday. Aunt Vanessa's birthday was on the 26th so we had a double birthday party and Miss Emma was just fine sharing her cake with her new Aunt Vanessa.Sloppy Joe's for dinner and then it was time for cake and presents!

Logan had a hard time understanding that it wasn't his birthday yet. He had a few moments during the day but Grandma Sharon saved the day by bringing him a gift-whew!
On a side note....these picture are from Tyler laughing at Papa Ray. My Dad is not the king of using a camera and we often tease him about how long it takes him to take a picture, turning the camera on and actually taking the picture. Prior to this photo, he had grabbed our digital camera and was trying to take a picture with it...Tyler thought it was soooooo funny....as you can see below.
I thought he was going to split his gut by laughing that hard....

On the REAL day.... Mommy worked, Daddy was at school in meetings but thankfully our awesome daycare provider filled in and made her time there special with treats, presents and songs. After a quick dinner at home it was off to Open House and a chance for Emma to see her classroom and meet her teacher again before the first day of school. After making the rounds at school, we went down the 6th grade hall and waited for Daddy to be done talking to all his new students and headed home for some cake and presents.

Emma carefully opening her gifts.

What a fun five years it has been. Emma is such a wonderful, smart child and has been a blessing each and every day. I love her crazy hair, her cute smile, and the way her eyes light up when I walk in the door and how she loves to explore and try new things. Happy Birthday Emma Rae-we love you!

The best present you'll ever, ever get is having such a good mom and dad.
