Kindness

Have you have experienced something that has knocked you off your feet?
I've had two experiences this past month...one knocked me off my feet and landed me flat on my back......
the second one knocked me off my feet and lifted me up......

Kirby and I needed some time away. We did something uncharacteristic and clicked 'book it' on a last minutes trip to Mexico.  We had no one to watch the dogs, no one to take care of our children and still had to take time off from work.
We just needed to get away.
Fortunately...we have awesome people in our lives.
People that love us and our kids and are more than  happy to help us out when called for duty.
God puts good people in your life.

So, away we went for a few days of sun and relaxation.
Our plane came in early morning and after the drive home, it was 3:30am before we walked in the door.

I grabbed the mail, opened the door and realized how much our house smells like dogs, and walked towards the kitchen.
As I set down the mail....I noticed something different.

You see, before I left...I had started a kitchen remodel project. I needed something positive to focus on and needed to some a positive change.  I had one wall primed...half of my cabinets primed and basically just made a mess of my kitchen and left on vacation.

I came home to this.........

And this.......

And this........

Yes, that is correct.......the folks that we had asked to watch our children.........came to MY house and finished my kitchen for me while I was gone.

It was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me.
It came at a time that I needed a positive sign.
It knocked me off my feet and lifted my spirits.

I love it!  This entire family helped out........How awesome is that?

I'm still amazed when I get up and walk into the kitchen every morning.
It brings a smile to my face.

Thank you JJ! You rock!  Your family rocks!
God bless.

How did I know, before that post was even done, that the JJ family was behind the kitchen finish? That so sounds like them, and I don't even know them, aside from tuning into the blog from time to time.

What a great story.
