*Gorging oneself during holiday meals has become commonplace. But doesn't it seem contrary to the acceptance that "gluttony" is one of the Seven Deadlies to anyone else?
*In recognition of Baby Jesus asleep in a manger, my children ARE allowed to play with our Nativity Scene. They are, however, NOT allowed to carry Snow Globes anymore. Although the sparkly gelatinous liquid did leave the bathroom floor smelling minty fresh.
*In the spirit of giving, shoppers ramble and barge their way through malls across the globe. I purposely offer up a "Merry Christmas" to anyone I encounter during our quest for the perfect gift. Occasionally I am pleased to receive the cordial retort but more often I'm saddened by these glimpses into humanity.
*Our Postal Workers deserve a Medal of Honor or a hearty slap on the back for their tireless devotion to duty in sub zero temperatures. Daily I look forward to seeing what surprises our mailbox has in store for us.
*Having children has completely erased any negative feelings I have had in the past during the Holiday season. Having spent a couple of Christmases in a desert fox hole, I now understand my place in time as I hoist my own children to place the Star on top of the tree. God Bless our troops abroad - may Santa and God grant them a good night's rest and an easy heart knowing that they are loved.
Merry Christmas to all my friends...
* Ruds - your children are family to us. I'm so glad Mamu has taken well to school and I adore the tenderness with which Baby L cares about all of the Kirbys.
*Dillons - proud to call you friends for deep down I always knew that you deserved a loving family to care for. O-Dawg completes you both!
*Johnsons - your insight, passion and humor has made my family better for knowing you. Your tribe is that of which fairy tails are written.
*CoaB & Family - it is from afar that we have admired the inner-workings of your mind and your family. It's always comforting to know that we are not alone with joys and frustrations in raising good little people. (Joyeux Noel or Mele Malikimaka - you choose!)
*To all my "other" Rowdy Friends - may we share a campfire or a phone call soon. May your shots be short and your stories long. Thank you for being in our lives. Michele said it best - "We are too blessed to be stressed."
Merry Christmas and God Bless.
