I'm not sure what to title this one so I'll just start typing to see what I can come up with. Oh the mystery!
We had a great weekend. The garage sale went well and we made enough money to buy a new computer desk that we have been eyeing for about a year now. The 2 key factors in actually buying it were: 1.selling the computer desk we currently have and 2. making enough money to buy a new one. So, both were accomplished and I do think my dear sweet husband will be making a trip to IKEA next Sunday to buy it and assemble. Any bets on how long it takes him to put it together?
It's been week 1 of the new kitchen floor and I have come to love it. The other tile always looked like it was dirty even when it was clean (or maybe it really was dirty-who knows.) Gunner has drooled on it and we've spilled food so it's officially been baptised at our house.
It's my grandmother's birthday this month. I think she's 98 or somewhere close to that (Jeff correct me if I'm wrong.) Can you believe that?!?!?!? Whenever I start to feel like life is going to fast and my 'good' years are behind me all I have to do is think about her and it makes me realize that I have A LOT of life left. In comparison to her age, I've only been through a third of my life. WOW! That thought alone makes me excited for the next thirty two years....
Bad news on the running front. I'm pretty sure I have given myself a stress fracture in my left foot. For the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to run without pain and when I do run and think it feels good, I can barely walk the next day. So, I won't be running my first 5K this weekend for Owen BUT we decided to make it a family event instead. We'll load up some snacks and the kids in the bike stroller and we'll walk it together and be grateful for the health of our kids and family/friends and pray for Owen and his family.
Speaking of kids.....Emma and Logan were at home today not feeling very well. Kirby covered the first part of the day for Daddy daycare and I left work early at 3:00 to take over duties so he could ump his baseball game. Being home in the middle of the day was odd but oh so nice. Logan was taking a nap and Emma felt well enough to go outside and do some sidewalk chalk art. I beat a rug, swept the front steps and was reminded of what it was like to be a stay at home Mom again. Oh how quickly we forget..... I had time to make a thoughtful dinner, I had time to enjoy my kids without rushing, I had time to swing on the swing set and pay attention to what was on Emma's mind for the day. Don't get me wrong, I love my job and I know that staying at home with your kids is a full time job but.....where is that fine line of balance and who has it? It's days like this that make me wonder.
To end on a happy note....... the end of a few activities are coming near. Gymnastics is done for Emma, Kirby is on his last week of umping, preschool only has 3 days left, Tyler is getting the itch to be done with school for the year, Kirby is scheduled to fill the RC pool next week......... It could only mean one thing. SUMMER is close at hand!

I understand! I love my job but I sure do enjoy when I'm home in the middle of the week. I can get so much done and it's so relaxing.
