Wow! What a whirlwind week! Here's a quick update of life with the Kirby Krew....
*The head football coach has recovered from his stitches and is on his 2nd game of the season. For any of you that read our blog and have kids in sports and school.... Thank their teachers and coaches for all the hard work they do. Teaching and coaching is not a 9-5 job! I knew that with Kirby being head coach this year that he would have to devote a little more time to the team but it's amazing how much time it takes out of his day-night-and weekend. But, things are going well, he's learning and the team is getting better and better. Go Tigers!
*I jumped into coaching the 8th grade volleyball team this week. I too have forgotten how much time it takes to coach and prepare and organize! My new phrase is....Employment Specialist by day, volleyball coach by night....and somewhere in there is laundry. Haha...I'm enjoying coaching again and being around the girls.
*Emma is enjoying 2nd grade and keeps telling me how different it is from 1st grade! Apparently she is quite used to her schedule from last year...but she is doing well and is my right hand helper at volleyball practice.
*Logan is getting ready for his first day of preschool. He's been playing football at daycare and getting as dirty as little boys get. He doesn't even mind that he's the last one picked up from daycare each day. We are so lucky and grateful for our daycare provider and her husband! They love Logan like he was theirs.
*The dogs are getting used to their long days at home, guarding the house and barking at the mailman. They love it when we all come home and can't wait to share their love for us. Raider is huge and Gunner is starting to look smaller and smaller each day. They eat a ton, shed like crazy but love us like no other.
*We decided to step up our commitment to church and are now teaching the 4/5 year old Sunday school group and the 1st-2nd grade classes. God gives you talents to share and both Kirby and I see the need for our talent to teach Sunday School. We are really enjoying our new church and it's making us think and re-evaluate our lives.
****Life is good! Being busy is good! We hope that you all are enjoying the transition from summer to fall as well!
