Living to be 100.

On May 13th, my Grandma turned 100 years old.
Wow! That's a lot of years when you stop to think about it.
When I start to complain about being 'old' and wish I had my 'younger' years again....I quickly think to my Grandma and realize that I have  A LOT of life left and I need to stop complaining.
That means I have 66 years left to live and be alive.  That's A LOT of time.

Here she is with her birthday cake.
She was so happy this day to see her friends and family.
She kept saying, "I'm so happy."

At times she can't remember the last question she asked or what your name is.
But she still is quick to respond to sarcasm with a shake of her fist and smile a big smile when someone is cracking a joke.

While I was back there, we were able to take a few of her household items with us as her house was sold and cleaned out.  I have a ton of childhood memories in that house and with my Grandparents.
Good times and good memories to rest on.

Happy Birthday Grandma! You've had a wonderful life and I hope someday that I can say the same about mine.

Thanks for posting the blog about Grandma. She looks so happy in those pictures. Which is good to see because she says life is rather dreary at the nursing home and you can't blame her. She's proof you're only as old as you feel!
