It's my least favorite part of the day.....
Coming home from work and figuring out either:
1. What to make for supper and/or
2. Making supper
Why you ask? Well, it's at this time of day that I'm pretty much mush from my day at work. My mind is empty, I'm tired and today I was in a meeting all day that included 3 hours of drive time.
I pick up the kids and they are full of information about their day and excited to see me and they are hungry as soon as we walk in the door. I'm hungry too, and so is the dog.
Did you know that you can plan your meals but it still takes time to cook supper and keep the kids entertained and the dog needs attention........
Life could be worse-I know....but for me, this is the hardest time of my day.
BUT-today, I had a really, really nice thing done for me and my Krew. A good friend made my family supper.
This good friend/family is helping us out by having Emma come home with their daughter and keeping her busy until I can get there to pick her up after work. (Emma LOVES hanging out there by the way)
Her husband came out to greet me carrying a crock pot filled with beef stew. Elly followed behind carrying bread and a wonderful raspberry dessert. I can't tell you the last time I ate dessert after supper.........it was heaven.
It was a sight for sore eyes and reminded me that really-good-hearted-people live in small towns.
So, thank you Johnson Family.....I hope you know how much that meant to me and how thankful I am to know you. Please adopt us......

Ummmm that pretty much rocks!!! Seriously. Wow. Good friends!
That is super fantastic. What a great friend. So sweet! It is such a hard time of the day. We struggle weekly with that also no matter how prepared we are for the week. Ugh. If only my cooking/cleaning fairy were around...
Hmmm.. I seems to recall an incredible coffee cake being left on my counter after hurting my neck last spring. Friends are supposed to build each other up, you know? :)
What an awesome way to end the day! I too struggle at that time of day, even with my love of meal planning!
Sounds good, you know....I love beef stew myself. Perhaps your friend could send her recipe to us so Vanessa can make it for dinner some Sunday. She's always looking for new recipes.
Jeff
Could you send them my way! Jeepers! I have to agree, that is the time of day that I dread too! Only because I would much rather be playing with the kiddos than cooking a meal! hahha! So sweet of your neighbors to do that for you!
