Personality.

Kirby and I take Logan to a 3-5 year old ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) class every Thursday night. We've done this for about 2 years now, the first year it was both of them, this year it's just Logan because Emma is in school.

It's nothing fancy, just 8-10 kids with their parents doing some activites, crafts and singing some songs for the first half.  The second half, we leave the kids with the teachers and sneak off to the other room to talk about parent-ty stuff.

Most weeks, we start with a joy and a concern of our child/children. It's kind of like confession as we all go around and share our stories from the last week of a struggle, something that made us smile, something that made us question ourselves, etc, etc.

At least one parent will elude to the fact that their child's personality is really coming out by what they have said or done in a situation.  Many times, they can't figure out where their child heard that phrase or heard how to use the word correctly.

Which brings me to my point....where do their little personalities come from?  Logan-for example-has been 'testing the waters' as of late.  What do I mean? I mean flat out defiance of what is being asked of him. My little boy would lived and breathed for everyword that came out my mouth asking him to do whatever......Has now turned tothe reply of , "No. I don't wanna."   At times it's funny...but only when he's acting big and tough in front of Kirby.   So, where did he learn this? Where did he see this attitude?

I think it's innate in his age group. Hang in there. :)

I'm going through the same thing. The Eldest, most times as charming and respectful as a little girl of four could be, has lately turned into a little pint-sized squawk-box, all piss-and-vinegar, all the time.

She knows a whole bunch of words but seems to use only one: NO!

Happy to report, though, that she was far better behaved yesterday after having gone straight to bed at 6.30 Saturday night, without cartoons, without desert, as punishment for the way she was acting.

But oh how we love them so anyway!
