I bought "The Shred" workout DVD by Jillian Michaels (Biggest Loser Trainer) a few weeks ago for those nights that I can't get to the gym but have the energy to do a workout. I've done the Level 1 workout a few times already and I like the quick-20 minute workout that rotates from strength to cardio to abs. The variety is great and she keeps ya moving.
Last night after Kirby and I put the kids to bed I asked him if he wanted to do "The Shred" with me. Now, he was laying on the couch, eating a freezie pop trying to find some sports to watch when I asked him but being a good sport he said "sure."
I handed over the 8lbs weights to him and got things set up for our living room/gym workout session.
I suppose I should have started with Level 1 with him but I had already done that workout a few times and wanted to see what Level 2 had to offer. And, I kind of wanted to see what kind of shape Kirby was really in. :)
If you've been to our house you know that our living room is pretty small so someone had to be front and someone had to be in back. I stood in back.
You'll have to ask him if it was a hard workout or not. I know he was sweating when we were done but he can sweat in -30 degree weather so that's not a good indication.
All I do know is that a few times, I had to stop myself from watching him because if I did I wouldn't be able to follow the video cause I would be laughing so hard. There was one particular move that we had to swing our arms opposite of the way we were twisting and he had a hard time figuring it out. Bless his heart.
A few other times he would look over his shoulder to see if I was still going and looked angry that I was still in step with the video.
Now, Kirby could kick my tail on ice holding a hockey stick, he could out shoot me no problem with a rifle or pistol, he could tie a spinner bait on faster than I could figure out what the heck a spinner bait is.........
We both have our strengths and differences but if you want to see how true your love is for your spouse...... exercise with them.
Thanks Honey for the great workout and for a great laugh on a Saturday night.

So far I can only get Tim to ride bike with me so I am really impressed! Especially since he was already on the couch!
Thanks for the good laugh once again. You two are a little weird, don't you know Saturday night if for watching a good movie together, not for exercising to some video. ;-)
You certainly won't catch Vanessa and I doing that. She's such a good sport she watched 2 westerns with me on Saturday and Sunday night. My new wife proclaimed "she now likes westerns", which for me is like finding a pot of gold.
