The Olympics

Like most families, we have been trying to watch as much of the Olympics as we can these past few days.  Today I was able to sneak out of  the house and head up to the gym for an hour before  Kirby left for work.  While I was on the treadmill, I flipped the TV to NBC and watched the women's basketball team playing New Zealand ( I think.)  WOW!  How impressive they are!  They are so physical at times and my favorite player (Katie Smith-who I remember watching play for Ohio State way back when) was just playing her usual, awesome game.  She just has this natural feel for the game and is such a natural shooter as well as a driver through the lane when 2 points is needed.

My other favorite sport to watch is (duh!) volleyball.  I have only been able to catch the women's indoor team play once but have been able to see May/Walsh play a few matches.  For those of you who aren't volleyball experts, sand ball with 2 people is 10 times harder to play than indoor with 6 on your team.  I personally don't enjoy playing in the sand as my training has all been indoor of course.  Which is way it's even more impressive to watch how dominating  those women are in that sport.

I love watching how buff and in shape the women are, the swimmers last night were unbelievable!   Torres is how old and look at what great shape she is in!  One can only hope to look that great when they are in their 40's.

So, my hat is off to the women who compete and train to perform in the Olympics as I feel they are truly inspiring to us 'other' women.

Michele,
You already look great. It's hard to believe you've had 3 kids!
